Year Experience
How it started
My name is Jonas Kilonzi and am a born again Christian, I believe that Jesus Christ is the savior of my life. I grew up as a Christian in my teen years because I received my salvation through an open air gospel crusade in 1998 at primary level, however, my parents weren’t born again Christians. My father died, and that led me to spend many years in hard life. My mother was a religious and all religious was my family. At some time when I was coming home from school, I prayed and by God’s Grace my mother accepted Jesus in a personal manner into her life and she was baptized in mass water.
When I was done with High School, I knew that God had called me in service and so I went and joined a bible school where I graduated after four years. During this time, it is when I received a word from God while praying; and He said, “Do you remember where you have been in life of lack and need of almost every life necessity? Look at your community now and give it back to the needy children.” That’s when I prayed with my wife and we started an orphanage with 5 children and we ended up living with more than 20 children at our home and supporting others from their homes. Most of the support came from my church attendants.
Through help of a friend by the Grace of God we were able to extend our home and we built extra rooms for the children. Smiles, cries and the Lord has been wonderfully faithful.
We have a Hurt to Hope orphans school that is at primary level and it is in need of extending our classrooms as per the ministry of Education requirements. Through God’s Grace we have two classes that we extend from where the children spend their night and also which we have made demarcations for our orphans to have a room for study, one more class is under construction but we need three more for this year’s curriculum. The Government has been on our neck to build more classes. They do not appreciate the orphans learning school from where they spend their nights.
But, the Hurt to Hope orphans needs keeps on growing daily. The need for water has been a challenge, we have insufficient water supply from the community, so we need to dig a borehole for water reservation. We have a water tank around the orphanage to harvest rain water, but unfortunately it hasn’t been enough for us.
There’s a lot that’s required to be done around here, but we pray the Lord to do according to his will. We pray God of heaven to speak in the hearts of good people like you to think about supporting an orphan child at Hurt to Hope Orphanage home.
We have a lot to say about what our God has done and what we expect Him to do for the Hurt to Hope Orphans in Nairobi, above all, Glory be to God.
It has been a privilege also for me to be a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ, a pastor and with a church congregation based in Nairobi, those are pastors like myself and you want to visit and minister at our church, you are highly welcome. Also, I visit high schools to preach the gospel to the teenagers and youth’s, and it has been a honor to God, many have accepted Jesus Christ in their lives as their personal savior. I have been doing street gospel outreaches too and have seen many people adults bring their souls to Jesus Christ through many prayers that we make. Thank you our friends, for all of your support, prayers and any single financial gift that you ever made to H2H orphans Nairobi Kenya. We so grateful to you and everyone who has taken his/her time to extend a hand of help to Hurt to Hope oprhans!
God Bless You!
